Ellie Fam Organic Baby Quilt In Pool And Shroom



 

I've been admiring the Ellie Fam organic cotton fabrics ever since Birch Mod Basic put them out, so last month I took the plunge and purchased some off Etsy.  Organic fabrics are pricey so I made do with 1/2 yard of two prints.  I chose the colors called Pool and Shroom.  To finish the blanket I added some Down Under Big Dots in Teal and Mustard.  For the back I went back to Etsy and found some Minky Smooth in Grey that is extra soft.

I had enough left over to make two burp cloths.  I backed one with white minky stripe and the other with grey minky smooth.

Riley..........begging for some attention while I was working on the floor......

No batting was used, just the minky and the organic cotton....

I kept my free motion quilting at a very large scale so the blanket would not end up too stiff....

I made my own binding using the Down Under Big Dots.....

This blanket turned out super soft and I can't wait to wrap up my grandson in it who we will welcome into this world come February....

The burp cloths whipped up really quick and turned out cute.....

I double stitched around the edges for extra durability.....
