Preparing A Send Off Feast For Dylan (Part 1)

April 30th, our side of the family had our "Send Off Feast" for Dylan.  He joined the Navy and would be departing for boot camp on May 5th.  We did it up big.  Grandma T wanted the works for her grandson, so Grandpa T delivered.  He bar-b-qued 3 slabs of pork ribs and many pieces of chicken.  Zarda is the sauce of choice.  Always has been, always will be and we would not want it any other way.
Brother-in-law Mike had the honors of separating all the ribs.....
The monotony of potato peeling got the best of Stephanie and Hannah, they were growling like sailors (how appropriate)......
Grandma T does some of the prep work the day before, but we girls always get there plenty early to help with the remainder of the cooking.  Sister Lorri and niece Hannah got assigned the banana pudding recipe.  Lorri sat at one end of the table cracking the many eggs and Hannah got the task of slicing the bananas and counting out the Nilla Wafers.....
Here's my contribution of the PEEPS Sunflower cake.  This was part of Stephanie's birthday celebration as well.....
Grandma T always likes to be in charge of stirring the pudding in her double boiler.  She's got it down to an art after 30+ years of making it!
Hannah entertaining herself with her love of pickles.....
Me posing for Stephanie as she documented all our food prep work....
The table was full of ribs, chicken, baked beans, pickle juice salad, tomato/cucumber/onion salad, corn on the cob, hot rolls, macaroni salad, mashed potatoes, two cakes, banana pudding and homemade banana ice cream!!!!
