Quilted Changing Pad and Burp Cloths Coral with Indie Chic & Lilly Belle

Another baby gift order completed.  Changing pad, two burp cloths and one minky burp cloth.  The requirement for this order was to find corals, teals and yellows.  I love the fabric lines Indie Chic and Lilly Belle.  I had to find corals from other lines to tie in with the teals and yellow.
I found the coral minky at the online fabric shop Hawthorne Threads.

Dolly Diaper Bag With Raq Squares

Today I finished up a dolly diaper bag with two miniature minky burp cloths.
I used my scraps for this quilted rag quilt bag that turned out really cute.  The cotton fabric squares were cut at 4" and the batting was cut at 3.5".

I sandwiched one batting square between two fabric squares and sewed an "X" on each square.  I found THIS YouTube video that was very helpful.  The creator has it broken down into three videos.  You'll have to search for the other two or they might pop up on the right side of your screen.
I have always been hesitant to try making bags because it looked too complicated.  But...........it was really easy!  Wish I would have tried it along time ago!

I went a different route for making the straps than what is in the link I shared.  I decided to make the handles with the same technique as the bag.....

This was a great project to use some of my scraps.  I also made two mini minky burp cloths to go in the bag.  A coral dimple dot and a white solid.  Each has a print fabric on the other side.

Jungle Theme Baby Gift + Dalmation Onesie

I finished an order this morning for a jungle themed baby gift.  I already had all the fabrics in my stash so I was able to put it together very quickly.  Five burp cloths and five wash cloths along with a giraffe onesie.  It's unknown if the baby will be a boy or girl so I included a tiny pink bow to attach to the giraffe's neck if it is a girl.  I used bamboo velour for the back of four of the washcloths.  I did not have enough for all five, so I used a quilted cotton for the back of one of them.
The mom to be also has two Dalmatian dogs.  I made this onesie to try to match the dogs..........
Also made a red bow to attach to the neck of the pup.

Parson Gray World Tour

I completed another order today for a baby boy gift.  I went with something "little manly" this time vs something cutesy.  The dad is sure to find this something he would not mind carrying around.  I used World Tour fabrics by Parson Gray and I really like it.
I debated about whether I should purchase the fabric for the back of the quilted changing pad in a dark color or a light color for a baby.  Ultimately I decided I would go with what I liked most and chose one of the dark prints out of the World Tour line.
I made one quilted changing pad, two burp cloths with Gerber 6 ply pre-folded diapers and two burp cloths with flannel backs....

Riley Blake Life In The Jungle

This weekend I completed a order for a baby boy gift using Riley Blake's fabric line called Life In The Jungle. I made a quilted changing pad, four burp cloths, one necktie onesie and one flannel backed blanket. It all turned out super cute and I really like the orange, gray and turquoise together.
The changing pad was made with 42 five inch squares.  I backed it with a plaid and used the same for the binding.  I then free motion quilted and ran it through the washer and dryer to give it the perfect amount puckishness.

Four burp cloths using Gerber 6-ply pre-fold cloth diapers.....

One tiny onesie with a plaid tie and one 36" X 36" blanket backed in a white flannel with a turquoise stripe that matches the colors on the front side of the blanket.........
For the blanket, I pinned right sides together, stitched all around leaving an opening to turn it.......
Then top stitched it using a decorative stitch....
Sewed my labels on, and this gift is ready to go!

Adorable !!!

Sheep Parade

Another one of Katie's friends is having a baby.  Her last name is Lamb so the goal for the gift was to find a fabric that contained baby lambs.  Andover Fabrics has a line by Creative Thursday called Locally Grown.  The Sheep Parade comes in tan and green.  Since the mom and dad to be are awaiting the arrival of their baby to see if they have a girl or a boy, I went with the tan and then chose some other fabrics in the Locally Grown line to go with the Sheep (lamb) Parade.
I made six burp cloths, four using Gerber 6 ply prefolded cloth diapers
 and two with minky........
I also made a quilted changing pad.  I cut out 42 five inch squares for the front and used a single piece of fabric for the backing...
A big Sheep (lamb) Parade going on the backside of the changing pad......and the binding is in a blue print of little chick eggs....
