Big Sis Lil Bro

I made these Big Sis Lil Bro shirts in anticipation of baby J's arrival.  I tried to make the sis shirt as girly as possible and the bro shirt have a manly appeal.
Baby J was born on 11-12-13 !!!
His tiny onesie fit him well and got to be his going home outfit!!!  Big Sis showed off her sweetness in her shirt too !!!!

Big Sis Lil Bro Applique Shirts

Today's project was to finish up this project.  A Big Sis shirt in size 3T and a newborn Lil Bro onesie.  I found the crocheted pink flower at Joann's and I think it is a really nice addition to the t-shirt.
I purposely stitched away from the edges on each letter so after a couple of washings the fabric will fray.  I think on the girls shirt it will make it look fantastically shabby chic!

Jungle Theme Baby Gift + Dalmation Onesie

I finished an order this morning for a jungle themed baby gift.  I already had all the fabrics in my stash so I was able to put it together very quickly.  Five burp cloths and five wash cloths along with a giraffe onesie.  It's unknown if the baby will be a boy or girl so I included a tiny pink bow to attach to the giraffe's neck if it is a girl.  I used bamboo velour for the back of four of the washcloths.  I did not have enough for all five, so I used a quilted cotton for the back of one of them.
The mom to be also has two Dalmatian dogs.  I made this onesie to try to match the dogs..........
Also made a red bow to attach to the neck of the pup.

Riley Blake Life In The Jungle

This weekend I completed a order for a baby boy gift using Riley Blake's fabric line called Life In The Jungle. I made a quilted changing pad, four burp cloths, one necktie onesie and one flannel backed blanket. It all turned out super cute and I really like the orange, gray and turquoise together.
The changing pad was made with 42 five inch squares.  I backed it with a plaid and used the same for the binding.  I then free motion quilted and ran it through the washer and dryer to give it the perfect amount puckishness.

Four burp cloths using Gerber 6-ply pre-fold cloth diapers.....

One tiny onesie with a plaid tie and one 36" X 36" blanket backed in a white flannel with a turquoise stripe that matches the colors on the front side of the blanket.........
For the blanket, I pinned right sides together, stitched all around leaving an opening to turn it.......
Then top stitched it using a decorative stitch....
Sewed my labels on, and this gift is ready to go!

Adorable !!!

Little Misters

Katie is going to a double baby shower soon.  Two co-workers are due at the same time so there will be a joint shower and the theme is Little Misters.  There will be a clothes line to hang onesies on so I made six onesies.  Three with bow ties and three with neckties.  I made my templates out of card stock.
I had onesies left over from when Stephanie had her boutique, so this project required no out of pocket money for today.  I used my fabric scraps and stayed with blues, grays and greens.
They all turned out really cute and will look so good hanging on that clothes line at the party !!

Football Onesie

Football laces on brown onesie.  I saw this idea several places in blog land and on Pinterest and had to give it a try.  I already had some brown onesies I was planning on decorating for Thanksgiving so I'm taking two of those and making these football onesies.  I used a white knit as opposed to a white cotton.  The stitching was a little tricky.  My other one is all messed up and I need to take a seam ripper to it tonight.  This one though..........turned out pretty good.  It's going to Stephanie's boutique, ROOM 5 in Ozark MO.  Contact her if you are interested in purchasing this adorable football attire for your little one!

Flower Onesie And Baby Skinny Jeans

Monday night I made this flower onesie for Macyn.  Her mama likes red, black and white together so this turned out very pretty.  I cut out 1/2 a circle and 5 petals.  Ironed them all on the fabric with Wonder Under and then sewed the petals on first.  Next I sewed around the half circle making sure my stitching overlapped each petal.  So on Tuesday when Macyn spent the day with my daughter Katie, she got her flower onesie and her Bottled Rainbow I Spy Quilt............
And this 10 week old little girl is making a major fashion statement in her decorated onesie and newborn size stretch skinny jeans!!!!

Who Let The Giraffes Out !

I'm loving sewing up these giraffe onesies and hoping they will be a big seller at ROOM 5 in Ozark Missouri.  The four above are for boys.  Below are some coordinating burp cloths......
Here's a coordinating set for a baby girl in the lighter shade of giraffe skin print.  Again I want to give credit where I got this idea.  It is from Laura at Laura Thoughts.  She was also sweet enough to message me let me know that I could find this lighter shade of giraffe print at Joanns (so I quickly headed there to pick some up!!).  This giraffe is embellished with a tiny orange bow......
and this giraffe is wearing a tiny green bow.....
Click here to get to Stephanie's, ROOM 5, where you can place a pre-order before I get them to her boutique.  She will glady ship anywhere!
