Navy Pier was built in 1909 and designated a Chicago landmark in 1977. It is suppose to be a top tourist attraction and was one we wanted to see on our visit. But when it is in the 30's and the wind is blowing off the lake, it was not a place anyone else wanted to be at. Above is Frances standing on the steps that go into the amusement park of the pier. We got there at 9:00 a.m. and were alone for most of our visit. Maybe if we ever make it back to Chicago, we will go when the weather is warmer and the pier is full of activity.
We walked to the end of the pier with the wind blowing in our faces, but we were determined to make it all the way. Frances is clutching her hood around her face to block the freezing air!!!
