Jesus Take The Wheel

Grandma and Pappaw S made the ten hour drive to be at Katie's college graduation last week with one tiny hitch..........they almost did not make it.  Pappaw dozed off while driving.  A roadside sign was taken out.  That roadside sign was sheared off it's base and struck the windshield.  That same sign rolled over the top of the car.  79 and 75 year old Pappaw and Grandma walked away from this horrible accident that totaled their car without a bruise.  Without a broken bone.  With only one scratch.  A self inflicted cut Pappaw got from having to wedge open the hood to stop the car's horn from screeching.  When Grandma called me on her cell phone with the news, all I could think of was "thank you Jesus for taking the wheel".

We needed Grandma and Pappaw to be here last week.  Grandma and Pappaw needed to be here for us last week for Katie's graduation.  We needed to get awesome pictures like these.......
Pictures of Katie with her Pappaw S and her Grandpa T.  Pictures of Aaron with his Pappaw and Stephanie with Grandma.
Pappaw told us that he always knew that God would let him take care of the things he was capable of taking care of and that God would take care of what he could not.  These two people set the example for the rest of their family.  They show us their faith in God with their actions......
We are so blessed to have them in our lives.  I love to sit and watch Pappaw read the morning paper, drink his coffee and do the newspaper's crossword puzzle every day.  I love to see Grandma learn all the new technology to keep in touch with her family.  She has her cell phone, texting, instant messaging, Facebook and email all mastered.....

and Pappaw is learning to enjoy new technology too.  Here he is with the laptop computer listening to Johnny Horton songs, Whispering Pines and All For The Love Of A Girl on YouTube.  And then he wanted to hear Purple Shades by Joni James because he loves her voice!!

After almost losing them last week we all voted that these two folks will not be making anymore long distance trips on their own...........unless it is on an airplane!  And when we go to the Carrie Underwood concert this coming October we hope to be able to keep our sobs quiet when Carrie sings Jesus Takes The Wheel.....
