My Entry In The Fall 2010 Quilt Festival Hosted By Amy's Creative Side

Amy at Amy's Creative Side is hosting her 4th Blogger's Quilt Festival.   The festival runs between October 29th and November 5th.   The rules for the festival are that you can only share one quilt..........ugh, this is so hard for me!  I have so many I want to share!!  Another rule is that you have to tell why you made the quilt and why it is special to you.  And you have to do it all in a brand new post.  So for those of you who have already seen my first post on this quilt, sorry for the duplication!  For those of you who have not seen that post, and if you want to see the first story on this quilt with more pictures of the fabrics and info on the fabric line I used, you can click here to see the original post.

I made this quilt for my mother-in-law.  She is battling cancer and is frequently cold.  I wanted to do something to help her.  I wanted to find a way to keep her warm.  So......since I make quilts, it seemed the best thing I could do was to make her a new quilt.  One that would cover her while she sat in her recliner.  One that would bring her warmth.  One she could show off and talk about!

This quilt is me.  This quilt is her.  It combines our love of flowers and favorite colors.  It represents warmth and family love.  About a month after I made this quilt, my father-in-law had a stroke.  He now needed his own quilt.  Click here to see the story on that one !
