Chinese Buffet Green Beans Made At Home

I love the green beans at the Chinese buffets.  I like the crispness and the color and the flavor.  This past Christmas, Grandma S came up with a recipe for them.  Not sure where she got the recipe, she already had it memorized.  Start with some fresh whole green beans.  Snip off the ends and boil in water for 7 minutes.
While the beans are boiling, saute some white onion rings and minced garlic in olive oil....
After seven minutes with the beans, transfer them to ice water for two minutes.....
Then drain, remove ice cubes and add beans to skillet.....
Add some powdered ginger and soy sauce to your liking, continue to stir fry on medium high heat and let the beans caramelize a little bit with the onions and garlic and soak up the soy sauce.
So good !
